ABOUT DR TENNANT
ABOUT ALLIES IN ARACHNOIDITIS
Welcome to Allies in Arachnoiditis
YOU ARE LIKELY HERE BECAUSE ADHESIVE ARACHNOIDITIS HAS TURNED YOUR WORLD UPSIDE DOWN.
Your pain and symptoms are unbearable.
Doctors don’t have a clue about your "mysterious disease".
It’s impossible to explain this invisible illness to loved ones.
You are much less functional than you appear.
You feel guilty for not doing enough.
You’re isolated and lonely.
You feel like you’re failing.
and...
Everything you read confirms that there is no hope in Arachnoiditis.
When you feel this hopeless, reading, or being told that the way to feel better is to “think positively”, “eat better to feel better”, or "just get out of bed" are not helpful. These may all be valid statements, but first thing is first, the pain and symptoms have to be under control before you can take those steps.
These simplistic solutions are usually said by people just trying to help. If by chance they’re reading this, what might be more helpful is to begin to understand what Adhesive Arachnoiditis(AA) is, how much pain it causes, how unpredictable, progressive, permanent and hopeless it can be. Authentic compassion for what people with AA are going through is probably the biggest help of all, and what doctors and loved ones might be better off saying is, “let’s figure this out together”.
If you haven’t anyone, or any community, in your life like this YET, you do now with us, at “Allies in Arachnoiditis”.
We believe the first place to start in your journey is to get your pain and symptoms under control, so that then, you may be empowered by other modalities to live WELL, in spite of Adhesive Arachnoiditis. Dr Tennant's book and Protocol is a good place to start.
BY THE WAY, YOU ARE NOT FAILING, YOU JUST HAVEN'T FOUND WHAT YOU NEED, YET.

VIRTUAL SEMINAR - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Dr Tennant is a retired doctor who has spent more than 40 years using and developing treatment practices for Adhesive Arachnoiditis (AA). Many of the patients who have followed his protocol have had great success in reducing the pain and symptoms of AA and slowing the progression. While that is clearly outlined in his book, "The Handbook to Live Well with Adhesive Arachnoditis", available here, there are additional messages he needs to convey to those living with AA and their loved ones during this Live Virtual Seminar event. Please join us!
Registration is $20 per person and includes a link to the Zoom room, where Dr Tennant will present the Virtual Seminar on {date and time}. It also included support in a private Facebook group community with others who have registered, as well as the replay of the Virtual Seminar.

What is Adhesive Arachnoiditis (AA)?
"A complex neuroinflammatory disease of the spinal canal covering (arachnoid) and the lumbar spinal cord nerve roots (cauda equina).
In other words, two different body parts abnormally "glue" together by adhesions" - Dr Forest Tennant
Neuroinflammation (NI)
Inflammation inside the central nervous system. It is the basic cause of AA and must be suppressed in order to control it.
Arachnoid
The middle of three layers surrounding the spinal canal. It can be come inflamed if irritated or damaged.
Cauda Equina
The two dozen nerve roots that collectively hang from the spinal cord. When they are damaged by inflammation and abnormally adhere to the arachnoid layer, the term AA is applied.
NEWLY DIAGNOSED?
According to Dr Tennant’s experience over decades of treating AA, it is imperative that you start IMMEDIATELY upon MRI-confirmed diagnosis, to control AA and stop progression, do not wait for doctors to tell you what to do.
